Our Scent

Our Scent

A lot of thought went into the scent of our beard oil.  I think I spent over 4 months trying to decide which scent I wanted to go with to be our signaturefragrance coming out of the gate.  Spending time researching several different beard oils and their scents, I noticed many people used the same essential oils and the aromas were becoming repetitive.  We also noticed how some scents wouldn't mesh well with the cologne you'd wear on a regular causing some pretty intense mixes with our ph and not playing nicely.

I didn't want that for our brand so I thought to myself what scents work best with cologne during all seasons?  Spring mixes are usually light, but you do not want to over power a light fragrance with strong essential oils causing the oil to over power your experience. In the winter, we are prone to wearing much stronger scents because the cold weather doesn't really make your cologne project as hard as the hotter months. A bad mix of beard oil fragrances can throw off any good fragrance and also knock off stimulation of the senses.

My first scent of choice was chocolate.  Typical, but who doesn't love chocolate? I was wearing Chocolate Greedy by House Montale and thought to myself "this would be a really good scent for a beard oil", but I knew that I would grow tired of it quickly as Chocolate Greedy is a scent that I would only wear during the winter months.  Then there was coffee, but plenty of other companies have some form of coffee scent and I really wanted ours to stand a part from the rest of the other companies out there. Besides, coffee scents are hard seller because not everyone likes it or the smell of it.

I finally settled on the smell of fresh beignets.  Beignets are year around where i'm from! Growing up in Louisiana the smell of fresh cooked Beignets wasn't uncommon, nor was it talked up as being a hated aroma unless someone burned they grease they were fried in.  That was very rare indeed as most spots that I've ever eaten them from always did a good job of making sure they were fresh.  I felt what better way than to represent home by developing a scent that reminded me of a batch of fresh cooked Beignets? I've been infatuated with this fragrance since it's development and everyone that has tried our beard oil so far loves it!

I mean at the end of the day we could have just gone with Crawfish water. It may have even been a hit with the ladies.  In all seriousness with know you'll love the fragrance as it does not effect any other scents that you accommodate into your self care routine.  Once you go in for that hug whether you're leaving for work in the morning, arriving to date night, or laying down for the night the lady in your life will appreciate to soft aroma our beard oil.  Trust me when I say this!  All ll in all we know you'll love it and we hope that you give us try.
